Common questions

What bulb does it take?

It takes a standard E26 cap bulb, sold everywhere in the UK. Maximum 40 W per socket. Choose an LED bulb for the longest life, and one marked dimmable if you plan to dim it.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. Pair it with a trailing-edge (LED-compatible) dimmer. Older rotary dimmers made for incandescent bulbs can cause flicker or buzzing.

Do I need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired, so it connects to the existing cable at your ceiling rose or wall point. That work should be done by a qualified electrician. A straight swap for an existing fitting is a routine job.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which is for dry rooms only: keep it out of bathroom zones 0 to 2 and away from outdoor exposure.

How low does it hang?

The suspension is set at installation to anything up to 40 cm from the ceiling. Over a dining table or island, aim for the bottom of the light to sit 75–90 cm above the surface; for walkways keep at least 2 m of head height.

What colour is the light?

Neutral white (4000K natural white): clean and even without the yellow cast of warm white. A good middle ground for kitchens, bathrooms and work areas.

Will it work on a sloped ceiling?

Usually, yes. A pendant on a cable or rod hangs true on most slopes; only the ceiling plate needs to sit flat. Send us a photo of the ceiling and we will confirm before you order.
